My New Story - Will be appearing on my blog shortly. Hereby I introduce my story 'Neil Down for Dreamjerks'.

Plot

He won it for the third time " the best animator of the year" . Neil Down an employee of Dreamjerks Animation studio got nominated as the best animator of the year 2012.  The success always comes the way in all the creative of Neil Down. Neil happened to join animation Industry  10 years back in regarding with an incident which took place in his life. The mind's eye of Neil lead in giving life to all the characters which he created. This particularity in him reveled the chance of animation in his life. Later he joined the best animation studio ever 'The Dreamjerks'.

The childhood days of Neil was quite unhealthy and difficult. The distressing relationship with his family casted him to a very troublesome life during his childhood. The time which took him thru these problems helped him in gathering a lot of experience of life. During his childhood his only companion was his imagination where he created new characters which had life. He never constrained  his imagination, it was very much in a status of free thinking. He always tried to model the character which he created in his mind with few things which was available around him. Each models which was created were very much close to a living character which defines the level of  skill sets he had.

Dreamjerks at all times wanted to reach a advanced level in the animation excellence. They were successful in reaching the level point by the uphill struggle of the entire employees. The days of Neil in Dreamjerks were a path of learning ,understanding and comparison of his animation and the market trend. Neil was concerned about his creative imagination and his created creatures. 

My Thoughts On Mobile Marketing

The present scenario defines a drastic transformation of mobile industry across the globe where in it has reached a higher level in its graph of growth and development.  We can expect the same kind of changes in mobile marketing due to evolution of latest technology in the mobile industry such as Androids and maces. These evolutions caused in revolutionizing common men’s access on varied information available around him. The marketing strategic to a percentage of 90 of a company are on the untapped market called the bottom of the triangle (middle class & lower class). Thus considering this strategy as a main concern by the mobile industry they managed to reach all the sector of the society which popularised mobiles and mobile networks. These evolutions of mobile industry lead in bringing mobile marketing to the lime light. 

Mobile marketing is a promotional activity designed for service delivery to cell phones, smart phones and other handheld devices, usually as a component of a multi-channel campaign. Although there are various definitions for the concept of mobile marketing, Mobile marketing is broadly defined as the use of the mobile medium as a means of marketing communication or distribution of any kind of promotional or advertising messages to customer through wireless networks.

The expanded facility of mobile devices have also elapsed for few new types of interactive marketing plans such as Location based service where in the provided service detects the area of the user in for connecting and sending messages for business in that area, Augmented reality mobile campaign - are different pattern of channel or service which overlay the user’s phone display with specific information of location and product in a particular area, 2D barcode service are services which avail  barcode that scan vertically and horizontally to include much more information. A mobile user can scan barcodes in the environment to access associated information. GPS messaging service involves location – specific messages that the user picks up when he/she comes into the range.

Mobile marketing has flourished to certain substantiate types of it where in it functions with newly evolved technology as its medium. The certainty which the mobile marketing has developed was through its foremost medium called SMS marketing. SMS Marketing has become increasingly popular ever since the rise of SMS in the early 2000s in Europe and some parts of Asia, when businesses started to collect mobile numbers and send off content. The first cross-carrier SMS short code campaign was run by Txtbomb in 2001 for an Island Records release, following it was the Labatt Brewing Company in 2002.  This initial period of mobile marketing gathered a vast profitable economic status in their particular yearly revenue.  The growth of mobile marketing extended to its next stage as MMS marketing.  MMS mobile marketing can contain a timed slideshow of images, text, audio and video. This mobile content is delivered via MMS (Multimedia Message Service).  Example - BMW generated 60M$ revenue through MMS marketing. The BMW campaign  launched the MMS marketing by customizing a picture of a car to be the model of the car  that the costumer had, and the colour of the car, with the wheel rims that the costumer had bought. Then the BMW virtually fitted the suggested winter tyre for that car and wheel. This image was sent to the costumer as MMS.

The change in the models and services of mobile, the consumption of mobile has also changed from just connecting people to different uses such as gaming, listening to  music, watching videos, camera, calculation etc. These changes of mobile utilization lead in bringing a new phase for mobile marketing which is known as In-game mobile marketing. Example - Coca Cola launched a mobile game in India called " Thumbs Up Everest" a rock climbing adventure that included weekly prize giveaways and a top-score board. The results were impressive with more than 350,000 games downloaded each week. The later development in the medium of mobile marketing was the introduction of QR codes. QR codes acts as a visual hyper link to a page or it makes it easy to jump someone to a mobile optimized offer page and as such, represent a very powerful tool for initiating consumer engagement at time when the marketing piece is likely triggering its most emotional response. Example - KFC has placed QR codes on its soft drink cups that aim to engage consumers and let them compete for a chance to win hundreds of prizes given away every hour.   Mobile marketing through Bluetooth is considered to be the latest development  in this era.  The rise of Bluetooth started around 2003 and a few companies have started establishing successful businesses. Most of these businesses offer "hotspot" systems which consist of some kind of content-management system with a Bluetooth distribution function. This technology has the advantages that it is permission-based, which has higher transfer speeds and is also a radio-based technology and can therefore not be billed. Example - Chevrolet spark LPG campaign which held in a shopping mall achieved close to 11,000 downloads in two days. Kropex exhibited Chevy Spark LPG cars in the mall that were enabled with Bluetooth transmitters, which ran over a single weekend, existing BluFi infrastructure in the well-known Forum mall in Bangalore mall was converted in to a "Chevy Zone."

The 20^th century saw an insurrection on computers, internet, and mobiles which lead to a parallel economic growth caused due to these revolutions of technology. As a mere concern of these developments the marketing channels advanced to a better stage such as emailing, web advertisements, internet and SMS. Now in 21^st century, it is considered to be a revolutionary period of mobile which leads to an era of mobile marketing. The Kelsey Group, a marketing research company, predicted that the mobile advertising and marketing industry would grow from to $3.1 billion in 2013, up from $160 million in 2008.

For all kochites ,What to do when Mullaperiyar/Idukki Dam bursts? For people in Cochin and nearby areas, there would be a time gap of 3 hours before the water reaches the city limits. The water reaching with full force towards the city would be around 20-25 feet high. The first 2-3 minutes holds the key to surviving the speeding water. After 5-10 minutes the force of the water flow decreases and within an hour and a half, the water level subsides. The main route the water will flow is via the Periyar River. People living near the river side can find a safe spot by travelling towards Thrissur. Those living near Aluva, Kalamassery, Edapally can find a safe spot by travelling towards Kattor, Iringalakkuda, Peraambra or Kodakara. But it is better to travel towards Thrissur. People living near Vytilla, Fort Kochi and Ernakulam can find a safe spot by travelling towards Aleppey and people living near Trivandrum can find a safe spot by travelling towards Aleppey or Kuttanadu. Carpooling will be an effective method to save more lives because every life is important. It is best to drive in a single line. With panic rising, there is a huge chance for people to drive haphazardly and traffic to slow down. If you find yourself stuck in traffic with no tall building within vicinity for escape, stay in the car, while keeping the engine running and completely closing all the windows. Reason being that even when you car in underwater, there would be lesser chance for the water to seep into the car when engine running this might help u survive the first first 2-3 mins of heavy force of water. Boarding a train might be a good idea and flight is a big NO because the airport is close to Periyar River. Those who cannot get vehicles should try to get on top of buildings - flats, the Kaloor stadium or the gallery stand should be reasonable safe. Although the stadium is not so tall, its construction is such that the water will take more time to get inside its complex structure. The newly constructed Lulu mall should also be safe with its complex construction. People in remote and coastal areas should try getting on top of hills, get on to boats or swim 1-2 km into the sea with inflated tubes or life jackets. Avoid flats with parking areas on the ground floor. As they stand on pillars (made of hollow bricks) the force of water and debris that it collects on the way can make it collapse. If you are stuck at home, empty syntax tanks or refrigerators and stay inside; these things will float and can absorb shock up to an extent. If you have old tyres, tie it to something strong and tie yourself to the tyre. Stay away from petrol pumps and gas stations..... Always hav an emergency kit ready with u.

While evacuating pls make sure to lend a helping hand to who ever in need. Just remembr tht evry life is worth it..!!

Environment – Whose responsibility?

“We, humans have the responsibility as well as the capacity to protect the earth and its habitants – animals, plants, insects, and even micro-organisms. If they are to be known by future generation, we must act now” (Dalai Lama).

The word Environment is derived from a French word “Environ” which means surrounding. It is commonly used in describing "natural" environment which includes all living and non-living things. Environment consists of all fundamental factors and conditions that have some impact on organisms in their expansion and advance. Environment contains biological and non- biological factors which has an influence on organism. Non-biological features are light, temperature, water; atmospheric gases and biological features are all living things. Environment habitually varies some time and due to that organisms have acquired the ability to adapt to those changes.

The reasons for modern concern for the devastation of environment are three, especially in relation to each other. First concern for devastation of environment is the population growth. It has been known for centuries that world population is growing. After the Second World War there was an accelerating growth rate in population. It is said that in the year AD 1800 there were about thousand million people on earth. By AD 1900 this had doubled to two thousand million, and by 1980 doubled again to four thousand million, whereas by AD 2000 the expectation is that the world population figure will have passed six million. The second cause for the concern is runaway technology. The modern technological revolution, may well have arrived in time to rescue us from our human dilemma. But this modern technology, apart from the silicon chip and micro – processors development led in the increase of wastage which created energy crisis. The third related problem is different pollution like noise pollution, air pollution and water pollution.

Noise is defined as unwanted sound. What is pleasant for some ears may be extremely unpleasant for some, which depends on some factor. The natural environment contains many source of noise pollution like wind, volcanoes, oceans and animal sound which differs in there volume level. The man made noises from machines, automobiles, trains, planes, explosives and firecrackers etc are more contentious. Both type of noise affects mental and physical health. Noise is an inescapable by product of industrialization; it increases gradually with the advancement of industrialization and urbanization. Even non industrial areas cause in noise pollution (eg: - printing, grinding, automobile repairing etc.). Noise pollution causes in several types of health problems.

When toxic substances enters lakes, rivers, streams, oceans and all other water bodies, they get dissolved or get suspended in water and will get deposited on water bed. This results in water pollution which declines the water quality. The water pollution affects the marine ecology. Nowadays, many of us dump their garbage and waste into water bodies thus making water bodies the resting place for all types of waste materials. These waste materials from industries, household cleaning materials add to water pollution as they contain harmful chemicals. The effect of water pollution not only affects the people it even affects animals, fish and birds. Polluted water is not appropriate for drinking, recreation, agriculture and industry. The contaminated water obliterates aquatic life and reduces their reproductive abilities. Ultimately it is harmful for human beings.

The air pollution is defined as the presence of pollutants in the atmosphere for a long duration is injurious, or tends to be injurious, to human health, and for the entire ecosystem. The air gets contaminated by the discharge of injurious substances. This polluted air can lead in health problems and it can also damage the environment and ecosystem. It has even caused in thinning of the ozone layer of the atmosphere, which is leads to climatic changes. Modernisations have led to air getting more and more polluted over the years. Industries, vehicles, increase in the population, and urbanization are some of the major factors responsible for air pollution. The above mentioned factors are the key reasons for environmental pollution. These reasons clearly explain that the responsibility for environment lies on us.

Environment studies are a comparatively recent development. It is being added as a mandatory subject in most of the universities and colleges. Words like ‘ecology’, ‘habitat’, ‘conservation’, and ‘pollution’ have not long been part of our everyday vocabulary. These activities are functioning nowadays to retain a better sustained relationship between earth and all life forms.

Environmentalism is a very important movement which aim to protect nature via emphasizing on the importance of natures role in protecting the environment in combination with various actions. Environmentalism is much related with environmental scientists and their objectives like to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, to clean up all sorts of pollution (air, water, and noise), emphasis on clean, to reduce the sources of carbon emissions, preservation of endangered species and the protection of biodiversity.

When I was starting my career as a Photographer I was little nervous. All I could think was “how successful I would be”. After the first day of my experience I felt little more comfortable in my new career. My guide was much glad with my work which gave me more confidence and inspiration to put forward more effort.

I admit, I did mess up a few times but from each mistake I made, I did learn from them, and plus, everyone makes mistakes right? I was doing certain things, such as laminating pictures. Which I never done before, and I didn’t even know photographers, or some at least, did that to their photos. That part is probably the most I have messed up on. Sometimes the natural lighting wouldn’t go on the whole picture, which led me into frustration, and the dire light would disappoint me too. I am getting better at lighting though, since I have been correcting a couple of times whenever my guide needed some click.

My first semester was almost done; from then onwards I was taught many interesting facts about Photography that I never knew of before. I learned many things about photography like different types of Photography, Photoshop, f-stops, lenses, shutter speeds, aperture, ISO and so on. I had been on a few outdoor location sessions with my Guide whether it was at a beach, park or streets. He also got me involved in a Photo Exhibition which entitled as ‘FSTOP’.

After my high school education I was very much interested in taking photography or cinematography as main subjects for my further studies either at NID or Xavier Institute of Communication. The reason why I plump for Madras Christian College was, so I could photograph the flora, fauna, the deer and the peacocks around. My course has also qualified me certain things like how to run my own bussines, which I plan to do later on in the future. As I mentioned, I got involved with outdoor shoots, and one of my favourite shoot was taken during a Northern India trip to Manali. I have never seen such splendour and beauty before and I got so keyed up before taking pictures.

One important thing that I have learned by being a photography student is that you need to be really patient if you want to be a good photographer. After completing my course I had understood it much better. As I am taking a place in the world outside as a credential photographer still I look upon my early days as a budding Photographer.

There are a lot of things I have learned during my experience as a student that I will be dragging on with me in the future whether it would be working in a company, starting my own business, or maybe even both. I acclaim my guide and the institution for the place I take in now and the future. Thank you very much.
